” A.F. Denning award for outstanding service to this lodge”
The Past Masters tankard presented in 1937 to WB Dr A.F. Denning (a founder and the Lodge’s first Junior Deacon) was donated by his daughter in 2013.
The principal officers decided to use it as an award for outstanding service to this lodge and it now bears that inscription.
It will remain in the ownership of the lodge and be kept by the immediate past master and raised in a toast to our founder members when our past master’s tankards are honoured at each festive board.
A very worthy second recipient of this award is W. Bro Michael Robins, who, as a PM of Maeides Stana Lodge 7868, became a joining member of this lodge on 23 rd February 1991. He progressed through the offices before becoming our Worshipful Master in October 1996. After vacating the chair he remained a very active member undertaking a number of offices before becoming our Chaplain in 2005. He held that office for 3 years before progressing through the offices again and taking the chair once more in 2010. In 2011 he was appointed our Charity Steward and has held that office since. In 2014 he was promoted to Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden. Such dedicated service and endeavour for this lodge over 27 years is deserving of our highest praise and gratitude.
